Sustainable Production Methods

Summary

We are currently working with a global food and beverage company, who is looking to identify new and emerging process technologies, ingredients and supply chain processes to enable sustainable production of food and beverage products.

Scope

This brief is seeking to identify new food and beverage processes that can deliver long term sustainable production.  The processes required could:

  • Maximise process efficiency
  • Optimise resource efficiency
  • Reduce overall energy input and undesirable emissions
  • Reduction or valorization of process waste
  • Develop closed loop production systems
  • Clean processing – e.g. minimal processing and additive use
  • Rise to the challenge of Food Manufacturing Industry 4.0

Processes and technologies at Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 7+ will be prioritised.  However, those that can achieve TRL 9 within a 5 year horizon will be considered.
